There’s been some ad sales impact on NZ Business (one of Adrenalin's titles). Event/seminar companies have pulled ads when they have cancelled events, and we’re expecting no advertising for management and MPA course from the universities. I think ads in our our automotive magazines might be down in the future due to supply issues.
On the up side, we’re lucky in that we changed to a work from home environment last November (great pre-planning!). Most staff work from home, and we have a small office at my house (two hot desks) that are used 2-3 days a week.
The change meant some significant IT change, and we moved to a full VOIP phone system for key staff and mobiles for others. We used Microsoft Teams which allows text chat, audio and video calling (Including group calls) and screen sharing.
Largely the change was fairly straight forward, although it took a couple of months to pull the IT stuff together. The staff all seem to enjoy the work from home environment – they say they get more done, less interruptions, better lunches. However it definitely works better where they can have a dedicated space at their home. One challenge we are facing with Covid is that in some cases their partners or grown up children are also now having to work from home.
