Auckland Media Club launches

5 Mar

Big names from across the media and political spectrum have joined forces to launch a new media club they hope will “expand horizons, raise issues [and] rattle cages".

The Auckland Media Club launches in Auckland next month, with the focus of finding inspiring speakers for an audience of journalists and others within the media eco stystem. Its first speaker will be actor and te reo advocate Jennifer Ward-Lealand.

The club is the brainchild of Sir Rob Fenwick – a businessman and sustainability champion, who nurtured a lifelong interest in journalism after starting his working life as a reporter on the Auckland Star. Others working on the project include former Bauer boss Paul Dykzeul, media comentator Gavin Ellis, ex-TVNZ head Brent Harman, broadcasting legend Bill Francis, politician Fran Wilde, journalist Nevil Gibson, former wiiter and ad man Sir Bob Harvey and PR executive Michelle Boag.

Tickets for the launch event – on Friday April 3, 12 noon, at the Northern Club in Auckland -  are availabe HERE for $86.17.
